Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) is one of the techniques we use in massage. This is a mind/body approach creating long term results. One of the premises governing NMT is that the procedures utilized should stimulate the body's own healing mechanisms. NMT is a trigger point release technique to bring balance back to the muscular-skeletal system.

Benefits of Neuromuscular Therapy

NMT can be used to repair chronic and or repetitive strain conditions, including but not limited to sciatica, rotator cuff/shoulder pain, lower back pain and migraine headaches.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE IS USED FOR:

  • Sciatica
  • Rotator cuff/Shoulder pain
  • Sub-acute lower back pain
  • Sub-acute migraine
  • Knee pain
  • Neck pain
  • Chronic pain

Deep Tissue Massage

This is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct pressure and friction applied across the grain of the muscles. This invigorating experience is a process of detecting stiff painful areas by determining the quality and texture of the deeper layers of muscles and working slowly into them. Specific hand positions and strokes are then used to respond to various tissue qualities. Technique employing breath and movement are also used for the release of muscle congestion.

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage

This is often used for very active people involved in sports, and exercise prior to and after performing these activities. Individuals with sports injury benefit from this therapy as well.
